Facebook Ads vs Google Ads: Which One Is Right for Your Business?

October 23, 2026 • Paid Ads

It is the question almost every client asks first: should I run Facebook Ads or Google Ads? The honest answer depends on one thing – whether your customers are already searching for what you sell, or need to discover it.

Google Ads: Capture Existing Demand

Google Search ads appear when someone types a buying search – a service, a product, a price. The intent is high and so is the competition, which means clicks cost more but convert faster. Google Ads work best for services and products people actively search for.

Facebook Ads: Create Demand

Facebook and Instagram ads interrupt the scroll – in a good way. You target by interests, behaviour and lookalike audiences, and you can retarget everyone who visited your website. Costs per click are usually lower, and it is the strongest channel for e-commerce and brand building – see how it fits into social media marketing.

So Which Should You Choose?

Most growing businesses should use both, in the right order: Google to capture ready buyers, Facebook and Instagram to create demand and retarget visitors who did not buy. Budget follows results – start small, track conversions properly, scale what returns profit. That is exactly how I run campaigns in my Facebook & Google Ads service.
